SMT technician must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the surface mount field, including operating and programming experience.  Must be an eager team player and detailed oriented worker.  Must have mature work habits, good communication skills, and be considerate of others.  JIT/Lean manufacturing and Kaizen experience is also preferred.

Job Skills:

SMT Technician must be able to set-up, program, operate, and troubleshoot SMT equipment.  Must be able to identify components and provide quality inspection throughout the processes.  IPC soldering skills are a must.  Must be able to work within a team as well as individually, with little supervision.

Primary Function:

SMT technician is responsible for operating and troubleshooting SMT equipment, and accurately populating printed circuit boards within the SMT department, per instructions given.  This position reports to the surface mount leader and works closely with the stockroom.

Work Performed:

Daily activities include programming and operating surface mount assembly equipment, troubleshooting machine problems, loading the proper feeders to the machine, operating the reflow oven, and, most importantly, in line inspection.  Must be able to use good judgment to plan and accomplish SMT production goals.  Some manual PCB assembly is also required.  Performs other duties as assigned.  Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
